Lama-Lama Game Reserve is located 30 minutes North-East of Pretoria in the Savannah Bushveld on the tarred road between Moloto and Rust de Winter in the Gauteng Province of the Republic of South Africa.

Lama-Lama Game Reserve has a large number of game on the property. Apart from the smaller animals like steenbok, duiker, jackal, various cat species and warthog, we also have giraffes, buffalo, red hartebeest, blue wildebeest, zebra, kudu and impala. Our herd of buffalo is close to 100.

Lama-Lama Game Reserve is very fortunate to have a large bird life in the reserve. After the last count, the bird list contained over 300 birds species. The reserve is a bird-watchers paradise!

Lama-Lama forms part of the Leeuwfontein Collaborative Game Reserve, a proclaimed Nature Reserve in terms of the National Environment Management: Protected Areas Act.  The reserve is managed by an owners association consisting of representatives of Gauteng Department of Agriculture, Conservation and Environment (GDACE) and the two private owners of properties forming part of the reserve.  The ecological management of the reserve is the domain of GDACE.

Lama-Lama is the ideal venue for nature lovers and bird watchers, for family and friends breakaways, team building breakaways, smaller conferences, lekgotla’s and bosberade.  Our accommodation is self-catered, but we have special fully catered packages for conferences should that be required.

Our beautiful church makes Lama-Lama the ideal wedding venue.  The church can accommodate up to 170 people.  The facilities in the Bush camp are ideal for receptions.

We provide all the necessary utensils to make the stay at Lama-Lama an experience to remember. All our accommodation is supplied with Eskom power and is serviced daily. Firewood, gas and gas equipment, cooking utensils cutlery and crockery are provided.

Accommodation

Bush Camp

Our Bush Camp consists of a large lapa with braai facilities, a safari room, a large and well-equipped kitchen, a swimming pool and five thatch roof chalets that can accommodate up to 13 guests.

Because of the intimate settings and design of the camp, we only allow one group of guests at a time to occupy the facilities in the camp.  You will therefore never have strangers or other groups of guests using the same facilities at the same time and this guarantees absolute privacy to our guests.

All our rooms are fully serviced on a daily basis and we supply everything that is required to make your stay enjoyable, including bedding, bathroom towels and cookery and crockery.  All you need to bring is your own clothes, food and swimming towels.

Buffalo Chalet

Our Buffalo Chalet is situated about 500 meters away from the bush camp. It is not fenced and the game roams in the garden around the chalet, especially at night.

This chalet has three bedrooms, each with its own bathroom, a very intimate lounge with a basic kitchenette. The Buffalo Chalet also has indoor and outdoor braai facilities.

The main bedroom has a double bed and the other two bedrooms two single beds each. There is also a loft with two small single beds for children

As is the case with the Bush camp, the Buffalo Chalet is also fully equipped and serviced daily. We supply all bedding, bath towels, cookery and crockery and also sufficient wood for the braai fire and a normal campfire.

Church

Our church was built in 2008 and has since been used for church services, weddings, baptisms and funerals. It is used by Christian churches of all denominations.

Our church was also ordained by the Greek Orthodox Church on Sunday, June 28, 2009. This done during a service by Farther George and it was followed the next morning by a service conducted by His Eminence Dr Seraphim, Archbishop of Johannesburg and Pretoria-Tshwane, celebrating St Paul’s Day.

The church is available for services on request.

The intimate character of the building makes it a preferred church to host a wedding or even to renew your vows.
